Rev. Edward Best, curate of Bilston from 1737 and vicar of Wednesbury, 1744.
Biography
Best was educated at Christ Church, Oxford, and was ordained in 1731 and appointed curate of Bilston, near Wolverhampton, in 1737. Sir Samuel was acquainted with Best from at least 1765 when the clergyman gave advice on the marriage proposals with Ralph Moreton. He also corresponded about the negotiations with Sir Samuel’s lawyer and friend, Thomas Hatrell. CCEd Person ID: 502
