John. 
I recieved your Brothers Letter & am Obliged to 
him for it as he has stated the affair’s of the 
Charity School very properly. — I think they should 
have made an Order at once for paying the 
Deficiency which according to my Calculation would 
not be above 3 shillings apiece & not let part be 
unpaid & stand over to a future Time, — 
I hope Mr. Jordon & the rest of them that are well
[???] her’s to its prosperity will Exert them zelous
[in] its Defence & not Suffer it to Droop
you may depend on my Concurrance &
assistance. When is the school Room to be built?
It afford’s me deal real satisfaction that the Organ is 
to be paid for I hope for all our Credits sake 
will not be long first. I hope you’ve received the 
Musical Things which I sent safe I have also wrote 
to Mr. Eller & hope he will soon Come over to 
Instruct our Instrumental Performer’s — he said he 
knew a Man who could instruct on the Clarinet at Shrewsbury 
Pray talk to him about it & get that man to come — 

as to Jonah — Haycock must Contrive to help him out. 
its as broad as long I shall set it off with him in his rent. 
Pray Let Jonathan Sadler be paid five shillings for ye Ringers 
that Rung on my Birth Day. have you paid the —
Plumber for Doing ye Musick Room Roof? you will soon
have Money to receive from Cordwood &c. — 
when you see the old Lady tell her I am well &
Present my Duty to her & that I wrote to her Since I
came up & that Mr. Hatrell of London sent her another
Barrel of Oysters within this fortnight by Friers Waggon
so they must be seen after. 
Nanny must Remember to get the Silk Stockings from Mr. Eller
that went to be Clean’d at Birmingham & he has Two Book’s 
of French Horn Tunes of mine Let them be got home
you may send up the Flying Horse  the Boat Sails, the
Brass Box upon my Table with the Sea Compass in it, the
Clock in the Kitchen to be Clean’d &c when you will be
a Fortnight hence will Do 
Send up the Drawing & Dimensions of Tuning Horn’s for Jordan 
Remember to get home ye Cushions from Seat in ye Church, ye Seat 
Cleaned & Brass nails Rubbed with a piece of wash Leather 
Sew up the places that are Come Loose & hang Down
Did you Examine the Steeple &c to see if the Drunken men had — 
Misbehaved. — 

Remember to Finish the Front Cover.
To gild Handels Picture Frame & mend ye Parlour Chairs
To paint the Bee house — Tell the gardnor I must have
┌ Plenty of Flowers next Summer. ┐
Laurels planted to shade the Root House  — & Handels Temple
I wish you would get a Man to search for a Spring in
ye wood if that could be had it would be ye greatest beauty of all.

Send me up all the paper’s about the Coffins in the Vault {...}
will find them on the Mehoggany shelves in my Room
& upon my Table they are Loose papers the sooner I
have them the better but Observe, if you inclose them
in a Letter it will Cost Lord Knows how much postage
if you can Contrive to send up anything Else at the
same Time you may make a parcell of it & send by the
Coach. — Mr. Shaw desires ye afternoon Sermon money
may be again Collected ye last week in this month &
Keep them to their Cake & Milk. — What Does Mr. Billinge
Intend doing now his Wife is Dead. —
Nanny should be getting in the Beef & Mutton for
Hanging.

The Book Nanny desired I am to bye is ready & will come next
Time I send a parcell. — I desire the knobbs that are wanting on
the stone posts may again be put on. & Let old Daniel’s Wife or 
somebody Pick ye ground where Post & chain is free from Stones. —
& I Expect Let me Come down sooner or Later that the gravell is —
kept fine & well Rolled & weeded. — I would have ye Gardnor go —
over to Stourbridge & get ye mapp that ye man is doing for me & do —
you send if me up Directly very Carefully. —
